First Look: New Drama The Champion

The Champion has hot new stars, and sizzling action in and out of the water. Qi Yuwu, Jeanette Aw, Fiona Xie and Felicia Chin look all set to heat up your TV screens!
The way we see it, you don’t need a feng shui master to tell you the presence of fishes and water in your home will bring in joy and happiness. In fact, we recommend a television set will do the job just as well!
With the 130-episode Double Happiness running currently at 7pm and into the next year, fishes and supreme family entertainment will surely flow through your home.
Coming up soon in October will be an abundance of water and vitality to refresh and excite your lives.
With a bevy of svelte beauties and a horde of tanned muscular hunks, new drama The Champion (Ren Wo Ao You) will bring together youths and sports – a drama genre that hasn’t been seen on local productions since Flying Fish in 1983 and The Winning Team in 1990.
The Champion is a lively, romantic and motivational drama about the lives of a group of young female swimmers, their ideals and ambitions in making a mark in the swimming arena. Swimming through that main theme will also be divers and lifeguards.

- Seeing Qi Yuwu and Julian Hee strip down to their swimming trunks was doubtlessly one of the high points of my writing career so far. But regrettably for you my readers, Julian, he of the notable washboard stomach, asked that we not put up those photos because his 8-pack was feeling rather… undistinguished that day.
- Four of the swimmers (played by Jeanette Aw, Fiona Xie and Felicia Chin) lose a bet and has to run along Orchard Road in their bikinis!
- Other than Singapore, filming will also take place in Cairns, Australia, where lots of adrenaline-pumping and romantic scenes are expected, including white-water rafting, diving and one hot-air balloon!
- Even though Fiona has posed in skimpy bikinis in previous photo shoots, don’t you dare think she’s comfortable parading in them! The girl was so uncomfortable wearing a bikini that she refused to pose for our cameras. There you go, appearances can be false!
