just finished reading this book, by the same author of P.S. I Love You. it’s a good read. i like cecelia ahern’s writing style. it’s a beautiful portrait with illustrative words, and a sprinkle of fairy tale intertwined with reality.

my sister made this for me. it was a top that i didn’t want anymore and it had a really nice soft material. so she used that material and made a little elephant for me. i think it’s really cute. and the sweetest bit of it is that it’s hand-made. how often do we get hand-made stuff nowadays? all the effort and thought that goes into it.. or for that matter, how often do we make things for others? don’t we all dash for the most convenient gifts at shops now? just like how emails have taken the place of hand written letters or similar examples to that extent..

anyway, that was just a thought.. it was really nice receiving this from my sister, on a normal no-occasion day..

some shots from today’s filming to share. it was a pretty good day, and filming went along smoothly. had to do some “stunts” today and i had a body double. when i saw him in my clothes, i started laughing and couldn’t stop. as for what stunts, i think i’d leave it as something for you all to find out. but anyway, i ended up doing all the stunts myself. i’m sure none of you would let it go if you saw me suddenly transform in size.

this is my double, my unlikely “twin”. he was there to show me what to do, after which i did the “action” myself. was trying to remember what i was holding in my hand right there in the photo, then i figured it was an umbrella, it’s scorching hot today.

photos by nanny. she did a pretty good job capturing those emotions today..

was filming a wedding ceremony some days back. it was a first time for me, to be involved in a non-chinese ceremony.. in a drama of course.

it was really interesting, to see the whole ceremony being carried out the way it should be. sometimes it’s really nice to come into contact with the racial differences in the way we do things.. it makes life so much more colorful.

marriage boils down to the life long commitment between two people. ceremonies may vary, but the symbolism is in the union of a couple. i know of people whose marriage lasted their lifetime, and some only a few years. some who didn’t make it through to walking down the aisle, and some who treat it merely as child’s play.

till now, it never fails to warm my heart when i see elderly couples walking hand in hand. it’s the kind of love that’s weathered “for better or for worse” that’s precious.

16th Feb 2008. Lianhe Wanbao.
this interview was done pretty late at night, after filming, and after another shoot. so i can say it was a long day for both the journalist and myself, as well as my manager.

there is something that i always find amusing and to this day, it still tickles me. people think i look arrogant, or fierce, when i don’t smile. there was a fan who told me that recently, and while taking photos his hands were shaking. well, for all of you out there whom i’ve one way or another seemed like a monster, i’m so sorry about it.

i’ve gotten so used to this comment that i don’t know how to react to it anymore. it just simply amuses me. for those who know me, you would know that i can laugh over the slightest of things. even during filming, when i get into fits of laughter, they know to take a 5min break. sometimes, that break can last quite long.

someone once told me that i don’t have to go bother myself about people’s perceptions of me, because that is after all their personal opinion, based on how they see me, based on how they feel, not based on how they know me. 日久见人心, i just need to continue being who i am and be happy. that’s all that matters.

for the longest of time, i’ve been trying to figure out sina.com, that’s in fact the site for my very first blog that was set up. though it’s still empty (because i’m still in the process of “understanding” how it works), i do hope to get it up and running.. no promises of when though.

that’s a pretty lofty ambition, i do wonder how i’m going to manage both. but whatever it is, this is something keeping me busy for now.. other than filming that is.
